The Polartec 200 Thermo Insulation Lining is a fleece fabric designed to retain heat and is treated with an Aegis Antimicrobial Solution made to aggressively fight odor-producing microbes. On the footbed you have an Ortholite Insulation which is an open cell structure that lets air pass through allowing odor- and blister-causing moisture to evaporate. This means no moisture bothering from the outside or the inside. The Merrell Thermo 6 Waterproof Boots have an added ActiveHeat Insole with Silver Reflective Film as well as a Grade 2 Nylon Insole when you wear these for trail hiking. Cushioning each step is a Compression Molded EVA footframe and a specially designed Merrell Air Cushion in the heel that absorbs shock and adds stability. For foot flexibility and outstanding traction on uneven terrain, wet grass and slippery surfaces, Merrell equips it's footwear with Vibram Thermo 6 Sole/Trek Dura Rubber. If you snowshoe, these boots are outfitted with a snowshoe strap ridge too.
